One of the highlights of Lokmanthan 2024 was the programme showcasing the life of Kakatiya warrior
queen Rani Rudrama Devi in the form of a play by Pragna Bharati Samooh. One of the most successful
female rulers of India, Rani Rudrama Devi is believed to be of tribal origin ruling over Orugallu (present day
Warangal) for over 30 years, who fought a war even at the age of 80.

The fierce Rani who broke the sterotype of male-dominated rule, is also credited with constructing the first
maternity clinic in India, which shows her concern for the healthcare of expecting mothers.

Lokmanthan 2024 also unveiled the most accurate representation of Maharani Rudrama Devi till date, which
was meticulously crafted as a life-size statue, after an extensive historical and archaelogolical research. The
statue was unveiled by the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu on the inaugural day.
